Our Objectives

To deregulate the health care sector

Until now, the German health care sector has been characterized by governmental control. Patients receive uniform mandatory services, health insurance funds can only provide the administration for their services, and service providers have few incentives for providing innovative services.

We are developing suggestions for increased competition in the health care sector with a focus on patients' interests.

Patients have a legitimate interest in pharmaceutical care in step with the latest medical findings. Therefore, they must - first and foremost - have the right to obtain comprehensive information about therapeutic possibilities. This is the only way patients can actively participate in the treatment of their diseases and the overall market processes as "emancipated customers."

Secondly, innovations must not be kept from the patients. In view of limited financial resources, it is necessary to reorganize the entire solidary system. The services of health insurance funds should focus on the treatment of serious diseases, while the therapies for slight health disorders could be financed by the insured patients themselves.

Thirdly, we advocate that patients have quicker access to innovative pharmaceuticals. We must shine more light into the regulatory jungle so that market authorization procedures can be further accelerated.

Overall, we intend to decrease bureaucratic regimentation and create new freedom for individually responsible action. Our objective is a health care system in Germany that is efficient in the long term.
